About the Book

"Mirror, mirror on the wall, who's the fairest of them all?" I'm sure that at one point in time, we have all heard of that fairy-tale request. Following would be the anticipation of something that we would want to hear: a favorable response, if you would. Depending on the tale itself, the character would receive either some good news (usually what they want to hear) or some bad news. From there, the plot would either grow or pan itself out. Actually, it's because of such request that God has touched my heart to use the opening phrase Mirror, Mirror as the name of this series. Mirror, Mirror, a series of self-reflection books has two purposes: self-reflection and Spiritual Devotion. How easy is it for one to simply point the finger of blame at someone else for all the pain and turmoil that surround them, but is it really that cut-and-dried? The character in the fairy tale wanted to hear a particular answer when they would inquire whatever it was they needed to know. They would actually pin their hopes or their next move or their next emotion on the answer this mirror would give them. In some cases, if a favorable answer was not given, the mirror was either bullied into that answer, ignored by the requestor, or destroyed by the requestor. Sounds familiar? It does to me. I was that requestor, and real-life people were my mirrors. Think about it. We have all been there.
About the Author: My name is Darrell Anthony Burriss, I was once homeless. I own nothing but possess everything. I beat with one heart, yet many hearts beat within me. I see the Spirit of my Heavenly Father through - The courage of my father - The wisdom of my mother - The commitment of my sister - The listener in my big brother - The compassion of my former boss/ forever friend in Rockville, Maryland - The dedication of my extended family in Woodbridge, Virginia - The perfect love from the perfect strangers in Norfolk, Virginia - The outreach from my Spiritual birthplace in Virginia Beach, Virginia. - The same from my Spiritual working grounds in Virginia Beach, Virginia - The determination of the unmet in North Carolina - The one chosen to bring me across The River - The adoption of former strangers who are now family - Those who shared with me in the shelters - Those who did the same for me on the streets - Those who spoke life into me when others spoke death - Those who have not seen me in years but have never forgotten me Yes, it's because of God abiding in all of you that God, now, abides in me. For those who do not understand, let me put it to you like this: Our Heavenly Father made the ultimate sacrifice for us as an expression of His deep-rooted Love. It didn't start at the Cross (though that does hold a lot of Purpose); it started at the beginning of creation. It doesn't end at the Cross either, for it will continue to have its Purpose well beyond man's existence here on earth. I very well cannot duplicate, nor will I try to compete with His Works. However, as God has shown forth Himself through the individuals mentioned, I must now be Christ like (a Christian) and show forth God's Love through me to all men (no gender) by way of His Message. My name is Darrell Anthony Burriss and I was once homeless.
