About the Book

Ann reveals a past of bad choices and a lot of family secrets that helped to mold her into a creative parent. God brings her to her knees as her son dies, marriage ends and gives up foster children she so wants to add to her life. God molds her with each child to pass through their doors for her and her husband Tom to take on the challenge of 5 girls who endured 2 disrupted adoptions, the death of a brother, countless moves and abuses to reunite them during the growing years. The fight with the system is worth helping the kids who have passed though our doors. All the Joy and laughter is priceless that they have brought to our lives and we hope that you will open your doors also. If you don't who will?
About the Author: Ann Roberts mother of 7 daughters, one "home-grown" 6 adoptive, has fostered and given respite to over 40 children over the past 35 years. Appeared on Connie Chung, Good Morning America, CNN and in magazines when they won the Lottery along with 49 other Hoover employees 2 weeks before adopting the 5 girls. Raised in Ohio now resides in South Carolina writing and illustrating children's books she wrote to help their daughters adjust and feel wanted (That's NOT Your Sister!, But I WANT To Go Swimming!, and How I Got My Mommy Dot) with her current book "The Making of a Foster & Adoptive Parent" for adults. Writing this book was healing and when started God would not have been mentioned but as Ann was molded the book formed. Years in Graphic Arts and Retail have filled in spaces between fostering along love of redecorating children's rooms, sewing, crafts, building/restoring homes. Volunteering, The love of travel, opening hearts to the possibility of fostering and/or adopting children is leading down a new path of publishing and speaking engagements and even venturing to Africa on a mission trip to visit 2 boys they are sponsoring for schooling. God is not done molding me yet and look forward to the many surprises and challenges he has ahead for us.
