Soo Myung ChungI was born on the Waialua Sugar Plantation, where my father worked as a tailor. I was the youngest of eight living children. Ten years later we moved to downtown Honolulu where I attended schools and graduated from The University of Hawai'i, with a Bchelor of Science degree in Medical Technology. After graduation, I moved to the mainland (what locals call the States) to marry my husband, a Navy trained laboratory technician. We lived and traveled in several states while as our family grew to five children. It was a busy time of learning about new peoples, places and things.It was only after his death, I underwent a thorough physical, opting for an angiogram on the doctor's recommendation. During that time, I experienced an out-of-body episode, which left me in a profoundly peaceful state. It is that state that began my quest seeking answers. My first step was to return to Hawai'i then return to the University for a Master of Public Health Planning.
