Manuel B BarrocaDr. Barroca, a professor of Spanish and Portuguese, taught at several colleges and universities in the United States and at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. For his doctoral thesis Vida y Obra de D. Cristobal de Monroy y Silva, at the Universty of Sevilla, Spain, he made a thorough study of the life and literary work of Monroy. He published Monroy, Uno de los Olvidados, in the Journal of Australian Universities Language and Literature Association, (AULLA), in 1973, a paper he presented at the University of New South Wales, Sydney. In 1976, his Dos Comedias ineditas de Monroy was published by Estudios de Hispanofila, University of North Carolina. Dr. Barroca retired in 1988.
