Heather Dune MacadamHeather Dune Macadam's first book, coauthored with Rena Kornreich Gelissen, was Rena's Promise: A Story of Sisters in Auschwitz. Rena's Promise was nominated for the National Book Award, the Christopher Award, the American Jewish Award, and the Natioal Library Association Award and has been published throughout the world. Heather actively fights against Holocaust denial and is the director and president of the Rena's Promise Foundation. She sits on the board of the Cities of Peace: Auschwitz and is the producer/director of the documentary film, 999: The Extraordinary Young Women of the First Official Jewish Transport to Auschwitz. Her efforts have been recognized by Yad Vashem in the UK and Israel, the USC Shoah Foundation, the National Museum of Jewish History in Bratislava, Slovakia, and the Panstowe Museum of Auschwitz in Oswiecim, Poland.
